Class Description: Create a Cabaret exploring the themes and featuring music from Wicked the Musical!
Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process based on the theme of the class
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location Information: The entire program will take place at Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.
# of Students in Class: 18 students. There are 2 professional teaching artists and 1 Teaching Assistant Interns.
Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register though this program is tailored for beginners.
Typical Daily Schedule:
9:45–10 Check In
10–10:15 Warm ups
10:15–10:45 Morning Workshop (Acting, Singing, Music, Dance)
10:45-11 Snack – We’re a nut free camp
11:00–12:00 Morning Workshop (Acting, Singing, Music, Dance)
12:00–12:30 Lunch
12:30–3:45 Refocus, Rehearsal
3:45-4:00 Clean up/Acknowledgements
4:00 Dismissal
Final Class Sharing: Friday, August 5 @ 3:30pm at MYArts.
