Class Description: Great first time theater experience, or for students who want to brush up some skills! Hone your actor’s tools of voice, body and imagination through acting exercises and workshops in this interactive class! Students will take creative risks, work as an ensemble, and focus on both group work and individual skill building.
Program Type: In this process based program, students will: - Build acting, performance, & theater skills - Participate in a collaborative process - Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community - Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance - Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes.
Class Location Information: The program will take place at MYArts, 1055 East Mifflin Street, Madison. There is free street parking and also $2/hr parking at MYArts. There is a community space where families can wait while their student is in class.
First Day Information: There will be an optional, informal opportunity to learn more about the programs on Day 1.
# of Students in Class: 13-15 students. There is 1 professional teaching artist.
Experience Expectations: This class is for both beginners and for those with some previous experience.
