Class Description: Sing songs about change, and the change we wish to see in the world! Musical Theater uses the basics of acting for musical theater (body, voice, and imagination) to learn songs, develop confidence, and work as an ensemble. Gain vocal skills, learn light choreography, and expand your knowledge of musical theater!
Program Type: In this process based program, students will: - Build acting, performance, & theater skills - Participate in a collaborative process - Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community - Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance - Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes.

Class Location Information: The program will take place at MYArts, 1055 East Mifflin Street, Madison. There is free street parking and also $2/hr parking at MYArts. There is a community space where families can wait while their student is in class.
First Day Information: There will be an optional, informal opportunity to learn more about the programs on Day 1.
# of Students in Class: 13-15 students. There is 1 professional teaching artist.
Experience Expectations: This class is for both beginners and for those with some previous experience. 

  • Final Sharing: Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at MYArts Center. Family and friends are welcome! COVID policies: At this time, CTM’s mask wearing / social distancing policies are TBD. We will be following CDC guidelines as well the policies of MYArts.
