Class Description: Beginning Acting students will use the basics of acting (body, voice, and imagination) to create characters, develop confidence, and work as an ensemble. As an ensemble, the students will create a play together based on the theme of the class, develop a character, and perform for family and friends.

Program Type: In this process based program, students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes

Class Location Information: The program will take place at MYArts, 1055 East Mifflin Street, Madison. There is free street parking and also $2/hr parking at MYArts. There is a community space where families can wait while their student is in class.

First Day Information: On the first day of the program, there will be a brief orientation for parents.

# of Students in Class: 13-15 students. There is 1 professional teaching artist.

Experience Expectations: This class is for students who would like to try acting for the first time as well as the students with some previous acting experience.

Final Sharing: December 11, 2021 at MYArts Center. Family and friends are welcome!
