Class Description: Come join us for the summertime version of our popular studio class! In this musical theater program, sing & dance your way through classic & contemporary show tunes, expand your knowledge of musical theater, & perform a medley on the final day of class!

Program Type: This two-week program is ideal for theater enthusiasts who want a more in depth experience focusing on a particular aspect of theater. Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes

Location Information: The entire program will take place at Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street. See Covid Procedures link below for Pick Up/Drop off procedures.

# of Students in Class: 10-15 students. There is 2 professional teaching artists and 1-2 Teaching Assistant Interns.

Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register though this program is tailored for beginners.

9:45–10:00 Snack – We’re a nut free camp
10:00–10:45 Morning Workshop (Dance, Music or Acting)
10:45–11:30 Morning Workshop (Dance, Music, or Acting)
11:30–12:00 Rehearsal
12:00–12:30 Lunch
12:30–1:00 Rehearsal
1:00–1:15 Clean-up/Acknowledgements
1:15 Dismissal

Final Class Sharing: We will hold a final sharing on the last day of the program. More info to come two weeks prior to class.

  • Please wear shoes that will stay on your feet (no flip flops/crocs) and clothes you can move in (no dresses/skirts).
  • Please wear or bring layers (the temperature in the rooms can vary).
  • *Due to Covid, students will be asked to bring some basic art supplies. A list will be provided and we will have supplies on hand for families unable to provide their own.
