Class Description: Welcome to Wonderland! Join Alice as she meets the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Caterpillar and other iconic characters as she explores the topsy turvy rules of Wonderland on her journey to find her way home.

Program Type: While this program culminates in a performance, it is rooted in process. Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
- Participate in skill building workshops
Location Information:
Week 1 & 2: 9am-2pm. Madison Youth Arts.
Week 3: 9am-2:30pm. Playhouse at the Overture Center.
# of Students: 10-15 students. There are 3 professional teaching artists, 1 Teaching Assistant, and 1 Stage Management Fellow.
Experience Expectations: Previous acting experience is suggested for this program.
Typical Daily Schedule:
8:45-9:00am Check In
9:00-9:30 – Warm Ups & Challenges
9:30-10:30 – Workshop 1
10:30-10:45 – Snack (no nuts)
10:45-11:45 – Workshop 2
11:45-12:15 - Lunch
12:15-1:45 – Rehearsal
1:45-2:00 – Clean Up, Acknowledgements
2:00 – Dismissal (2:30pm dismissal for Wk 3)
Final Performance: July 29 & 30, 7pm, Playhouse Theater, Overture Center. Tickets $9. Limited seating.
