Class Description: Cast a spell in this virtual program exploring magic and those who make it! Students will create their own scenes inspired by the wizarding world in this program!
Program Type: Our one-week programs focus on process over product. The theater skills gained will not only prepare them for a final showcase, but also prepare them for life! Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process based on the theme of the class
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Log on Information: The Platforms used for this program are Google Classroom and Zoom. You will need an @gmail domain email to access the Google Classroom. Email education@ctmtheater.org if that is not an option for you.
# of Students in Class: 15-20 students. There is 1 professional teaching artist, 1 Teaching Assistant Intern, and 1 High School Intern.
Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register.
Typical Daily Schedule:
9:00am- Log On
9:00-9:30 – Morning Warm Ups, Challenges
9:30-10:30 – Rotation 1
10:30-10:35 – Break
10:35-11:05 – Rotation 2
11:05-11:45 – Games/Character Creation/ Showcase Prep, etc.
11:45-12:00 – Acknowledgements, set up Asynchronous Activities
12:00 – Log Off
Final Class Sharing: We will hold a virtual final sharing on the last day of the program. More info to come two weeks prior to class.
