Theme: Explore and practice the basics of playwriting to create scenes based on a theme and act in one another's creative work.
Class Description: Our Spotlight Series is for young theater artists who want to explore a specific aspect of theater arts. This series is designed to offer students an opportunity to explore theatrical storytelling from different perspectives.
Program Type: In this process based program, students will:
- Build writing, creative thinking, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Class Location Information: Austin Place (111 N. Fairchild Street)
First Day Information: On the first day of the program, there will be a brief orientation for parents.
# of Students in Class: 13-15 students. There is 1 professional teaching artist.
Experience Expectations: This class is for students who would like to try playwriting for the first time as well as the students with previous creative writing and playwriting experience.
Final Sharing: March 14, at 3:00pm at Austin Place. Family and Friends welcome!
