Class Description: Performers will think fast, take risks and work as part of a tightly knit ensemble. Using short form and long form improvisation, students will develop characters, scenes, and situations through listening and responding in the moment, remaining open to the suggestions and ideas of others, and pulling comedy from the world around them.

Program Type: In this process based program, students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes

Class Location Information: The program will take place at Children’s Theater of Madison, 228 State Street in downtown Madison. This is not the same as Overture Center! There is a lobby space where families can wait while their student is in class. Please know that there are two flights of stairs leading up to the classroom space (If your student requires an accessible space, email education@ctmtheater.org immediately).

First Day Information: On the first day of the program, there will be a brief orientation for parents.

# of Students in Class: 13-15 students. There is 1 professional teaching artist.

Experience Expectations: This class is open to students of all experience levels.

Final Sharing: December 14. Location is TBD, but will be in a downtown, accessible space. Family and friends welcome! The troupe will perform an improv show built by the students. (NOTE: This class is rated PG-13. We promise to keep it family friendly!)
