For those of you wanting more than a sampler but perhaps
can’t do the full course, this appetizer size class will let you
get into the hot shop, learn a little about hot glass and make
a couple of cool projects. Fast! Quick! Fun!

  • Bring sunglasses and wear a cotton shirt and pants to work the first day. No sandals, shorts or synthetics.
  • Please keep in mind this studio has high heat temperatures. Participants must have a minimum height of 56 inches to be able to independently look into the furnace, have full vision capabilities, gripping strength with both hands and have adequate hand-eye coordination.

Instructor -- Matt Kenyon

Kenyon received his BFA in Furniture Design from Herron School of Art in 2008. He has actively been blowing glass at the Art Center for since 1998. He is an instructor at the Indianapolis Art Center, as well as the head of the glass studio. He enjoys incorporating mixed media into his work including glass, metal, wood, rope and bead work. Matt has taught at the Art Center for over 5 years.
