The goal of this class is for students
to experience working with glass in its molten form,
demonstrating appropriate tools and glass working methods
to be used by students. Emphasis is on safety and good work
habits in the Glass Studio. Please come prepared to work during
the first class session, bring sunglasses and wear cotton shirt and
pants. No shorts, synthetics or sandals.
- Please note: no class meeting November 23 due to Thanksgiving.
Instructor -- Matt Kenyon
Kenyon received his BFA in Furniture Design from Herron School of Art in 2008. He has actively been blowing glass at the Art Center for since 1998. He is an instructor at the Indianapolis Art Center, as well as the head of the glass studio. He enjoys incorporating mixed media into his work including glass, metal, wood, rope and bead work. Matt has taught at the Art Center for over 5 years.

- Parent/guardian must sign waiver at first class meeting. Participants must have a minimum height of 56 inches to be able to independently look into furnace, have full vision capabilities, gripping strength with both hands and have adequate eye-hand coordination. Please also keep in mind this studio has high heat temperatures. Please come prepared to work during the first class session, bring sunglasses and wear cotton shirt and pants. No shorts, synthetics or sandals.
